TRIC Awards 2012 Header

The first Awards Lunch was held in April 1969, at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London, when three awards were presented to Val Doonican, Kenneth Horne and The Forsyte Saga.

There have been many famous recipients of these Awards over the years and indeed the Awards themselves have now increased to sixteen, reflecting the changes the industry has been through since the event began. They now encompass Satellite and Digital productions recognising the increasing importance of non-terrestial broadcasting.

The most important and unique thing about the TRIC Awards is that they are voted for not by a panel of judges or a committee, but by the many members of the Industry. It is therefore fair to say that the highest accolade of being an Award recipient is that it is the public who have watched or listened to the winners who deem them to be the best.
